Plainfield Library History
The first library in Plainfield was opened December 20, 1969. It was housed in the former Orcutt Paint Store on Main Street, just to the North of where the new building stands now. On April 2, 1977, the old library closed to make way for a new library building. On September 3, 1978, the newly constructed library was opened.
Plainfield Library celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2019.
